Slamat Ari Gawai - Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai

Slamat Ari Gawai to all my Dayak friends!

To those yg balik kampung, don't forget to bring some babi panggang!

I'm craving for that sinful meat in my mouth now (O.M.G, it's 12.23 a.m. and what am I thinking? Babi panggang.. sigh~)

I'm looking forward for all my Sarawak friends to come back here and bring all those yummy food all the way from The Land of the Hornbills.

Mee Kolo come to me.. Salai Babi come to me....

New Week -, New Hope??

Monday oh Monday why is it you're always the first to greet me each week?

Today was a day of hunger and hard labour. I don't know what to do with my work. It seems to be endless. I managed to finish a portion of it, but still, another 100 times the portion I did was left untouched.

What a great day to start the week, eh. Tummy aches, crying to be fed. Body aches, yearning to lie on the mattress. Mental stress, wishing all things were as simple as ABC and 123.

I wish that there's a time a space where everyday is Saturday. I don't want Sunday too 'cause I'll keep thinking tomorrow will be Monday.

Am I making sense?

Wanting everyday to be the same and yet at the same time thinking of the next day that never arrive? I'm confused. Too much to think. Brain is exploding.

................................

Hungry...

Gosh, I'm freakin' hungry...

I saw a 'siu yuk' (roast pork) picture from a friend's blog and suddenly my tummy started to make all sort of sounds and now all I can think of is that gawd damn pork!

"Sa tingu tu kalo nanti tengahari ko tia lapar"

"bah, tingu la"

Ah~ I can see that "see, I was right" face in my head. All because of that donuts! Not that I don't want to eat it, it's just that 6 (SIX) donuts for breakfast is just crazy~ But yeah, I do admit... Afternoon came, and I was hungry like a pig.

sigh~

Food... come to me...

Prince Of Persia (review)

To be honest, have no idea that there's a movie now showing called 'The Prince of Persia'. I wasn't sure as to wanna watch it or not cos I was afraid that it would be another 'The Clash of the Titans' movie. But since there was no other movie available to watch (except for Sherk, but that one I KIV for later, heee)I just agreed on watching it.

To my surprise, the movie was quite good. I like the plot and I love the acting, it's not the like the Clash of the Titans movie where the hero is always moody and angry and makes the whole movie sucks (no offense to any of Clash of the Titans fan.. =_=")

As usual, in every movie I watch (especially fiction ones) I tend to dream of any interesting and desirable things in the movie.

For instance, in the Prince of Persia movie, gawd, how I wish I could get hold of that dagger! It would make my life so much better!

Sands of time, how I wish you are now in my hand. I won't go back time so far to the past, I won't let any hurricane to happen, I just want to go back to yesterday and buy the jackpot number for today, LOL!

If only I could...

Anyways, this is suppose to be a review, so, here goes.

The beginning past of the movie is an attention grabber. The story is simple, a boy threw an apple to a Persian guard to save his friend and the King saw the courageous little boy and adopted him as his own son, but in that simpleness, I got hooked to the movie from the beginning till the end.

And there's a twist in the story where I predicted the next scene, and I got it wrong. I would rate this movie a 4/5, a must watch movie too.

Kotobian Tadau Tagazo Do Kaamatan!

*edit: I actually stumbled upon the image above in Google Image, and I had no idea it was indeed an unforseen destiny. LOL.

Kudos to the designer for such a great design (attracted my attention amongst all the other images)

Kaamatan - the liveliest festival celebrated by the Kadazan/Dusun of Sabah. It's the time where friends and family come together and cheer 'Aramaii Tii' to eveyone.

When I was a kid, I used to look forward to this celebration 'cause it is when all my uncles, aunties and cousins will gather and have a great time catching up, playing poker, drinking, barbequing and most important is the karaoke-ing part.

In every house where Kaamatan is celebrated, one will always find a karaoke corner, and there you can see everyone waiting for their turn to sing. And they really can sing non-stop until all of the songs in the CD has been sung, only to load another new CD and start the singing marathon again.

What I really enjoy most last time was the time where I used to help my uncles with the barbeque and join a game of poker with my aunts. I know, as a kid I'm suppose to be enjoying playing with my other cousins, but I don't know why, I just like doing grown-up stuffs.

Ah~, that was the good old days, and I miss that time.

KOTOBIAN TADAU TAGAZO DO KAAMATAN EVERYONE! ARAMAII TII!

A Three-Day Movie Marathon

I just realized it today that I spent my evenings at Mid Valley for the past three days! After work on Sunday my friend and I rushed there to catch Iron Man II movie. I'm not really a big fan of Iron Man, and this movie was not something I've been anticipating on. But since I watched the first Iron Man at a cinema, it would only be fair if I watched the second one in the cinema too. (excuses, excuses.. hehe..) The movie was okay for me, personally I find the first Iron Man to be better in terms of the story line and the overall movie.

As compared to the first one, I guess the second one is funnier but I still prefer the first one 'cause I am not satisfied on how easy was it for him to defeat the electric-swooshing enemy, Ivan Vanko. I guess I expected more from the the movie, and it failed to deliver. *sigh*

The drive home from the movie was a silent one, I cracked my head real hard to find a point to talk about the movie, but all there was was about how we were not satisfied on how easy the villain was defeated. This is the kind of movie it was - "the-nothing-to-talk-about-after" movie.

The next day after attending a seminar, without thinking twice we found ourselves on the highway heading for Mid Valley. We plan to watch Toy Story 1 ans 2 in 3D but there was only one show at 12 p.m. that day. It took us about 30 minutes to decide what to watch that day; Shutter Island, The Date Night or Haunted Room (Who Are You). After much discussion, finally we agreed on watching a Thailand horror movie, Haunted Room. I was really excited to watch the movie since Thailand is famous for their horror movies. I think what made me more excited to watch the movie was the fact that one of my friend is a fainthearted person, I just love to watch her reaction when it involved things like ghosts or anything that is scary. Never failed to make me laugh till my tummy hurts.

The movie was so-so, it was not something that you will get nightmares from. At one point I find the movie very touching and sad - the love of a mother for her child. If I were the mother in the movie, I too would probably be as she was. Anyways, for me the movie though very short felt like an eternity to end. I fell asleep in the middle of it waiting for the supposed ghost to appear. This movie I rate 2/5 in terms of its scare-level - only the sound effect makes you at the edge of your seat.

The next day, we spent yet another evening in Mid Valley for another movie. Two movies to be exact, we went there to watch the limited release of Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3D!! I've watched the movies for a gazillion times and I just can't get enough of it, so it was no problem for me to watch the movies over again.

The 3D effect was not that big a deal tho for me; but I don't know, maybe I expected too much out of it. For me, sitting for more than 3 hours watching those movies was not a problem, just that wearing those 3D glasses for a long period of time kinda makes you feel a bit dizzy and get blurry eye sights.
