I'm out on a frenzy!! - an eating frenzy that is.

Destination 1: el meson, Bangsar.

This was my first time dining in this restaurant. The only Spanish restaurant I've ever been to in Bangsar was the La Bodega. So this was my second Spanish restaurant. But I can assure you that Spanish dishes are just heavenly! The flavours in their food are alive, you can feel them dancing on your taste buds! Well, that's how I feel it.

La Bodega is more of a tapas n wine (well, that's why it's called tapas y vinos) restaurant. Good for hanging out with friends and for snacks if you don't want anything heavy or if you enjoy eating lots of different kind of food at one time.

el meson is more of a main dish - dining kinda place. They do serve tapas too but the main dishes are more tempting. Especially when there's pork involved. I've always been dying to try the roast sucking pig. Well now I can check that off from my list of things to do/eat.

Anyways, I really like the ambiance in the restaurant. I kinda felt like time stood still in there, where you can enjoy your meal, have some good laughs with friends and it never felt like it's time to go. We had to force ourselves to call for the bills.

The food was superb. The roast sucking pig didn't disappoint me. Tho in the picture it kinda look nasty and sad at some point, but I would definitely have it again. I love everything about it. The Paella Valenciana was kinda a lot but I just can't help myself from having more.

Desserts were great, especially the Chocolate Molten Lava. Our hands were scooping it non-stop. Affogato was delightful too, I like the coffee taste and the sprinkled nuts on it.

All in all, it was a delightful dinner we had at el meson. For a great dinner for the family or friends, I would say el meson is the place. But if you wanna hangout, have some drinks and have a good time with friends, La Bodega is the place to be. Both places serve superb Spanish cuisines.

Christmas 2010

It's 2011! And yet I'm posting about Christmas Dinner! LOL! I really need to manage my time better, sigh.. Anyways, on the first day of Christmas 2010 was a bitter and happy day for me. Will let you know bout the bitter part later, but for now, let me start with the happy part first.

Bali - after half a year

Bali - I miss this place. It's been almost a year, but the memories and experiences of being there is still fresh in my mind.

The food there is just heavenly and cheap! Looking back at the pictures stored somewhere in my hard disc makes me wanna fly there and get me some of those juicy, finger-lickin' pork ribs!

Monkey Forest at Ubud. Saw a monkey attacking a Caucasian guy live! Was too numb to take a picture of it tho. It was an interesting experience..and eerie too >.<"

Dinner at.. gosh, I forgot the name of the place. It's somewhere in Ubud. The best pork ribs! JUICY and tho it was totally impossible for me to stuff it in, but at last I managed to do so.. Nike's 'Nothing is Impossible' is true, LOL!

Lunch at Bebek Bengil, Ubud. The bebek bengil was too dry for my liking. But the pork ribs were just too delicious to describe!

Dinner @ Hakka Village, Seri Kembangan

Been meaning to go and try this place for a long time, and last month we got the chance to go and try this place.

The place was okay, not really full and not really empty. We ordered the signature dish, which was the crab in the rice (no idea what it is called) but the crab was nice and the rice was nice too, only missing was salted fish, ahh.. I love salted fish with fried rice ^_^"

Anyways, we ordered pork in yam, a vegetable, a fu gua soup and tofu. The food was okay, not as I expected actually. The price was reasonable enough I think, I forgot how much it all costs, but I remembered I did not complained about the price, so I guess it was not ridiculously expensive for such meals.

Dinner @ La Bodega, Bangsar

Another La Bodega dinner. I just love this place. The food is great, the atmosphere is fantastic and the wine is superb!

I am a fan of this authentic Spanish tapas bar; La Bodega - tapas y vinos.

I would strongly recommend the house specialty which is the Chuletas de cordero a'la parrilla. But too bad I did not take a picture of the scrumptious Chuletas, since I was too busy savouring every bit of it >.<"

Can't wait for my next La Bodega visit!

Lunch @ San Francisco Steakhouse - KLCC

Ah, I almost forgot about these pictures. We saw the lunch set promotion few days before and we just had to try it! I just saw these pictures in some of my folders and I thought of posting some of them.

There were ten sets to choose from, but we tried only three that we felt was worth it.

Grilled Fish

Grilled white perch fillet with lemon butter sauce. served with baked pilaf rice and garlic broccoli

Grilled Australian lam leg. served with garden salad. mashed potatoes and bearnaise sauce

Beef Paillard
Grilled thin beef served with salad and mashed potatoes

The potions were small, but nobody complained much 'cause overall the place is a nice place to hangout with friends and although the service was not so good on the day we went, we still had a good time chit-chatting and cam-whoring and ended up spending 2-hours there.

I wouldn't mind going there for the second time for the lunch set and maybe next time I'll try the poultry instead >.<"

Welcoming the New Year (2010) @ Home and Tenji Japanese Buffet, Mont Kiara

It's the 9th day of the New Year!! Just like last year and the year before, my New Year's resolution is to lose the excess fat on my body. But I guess like any other years, that would never happen.. *sigh*

This is how I welcomed the New Year with some friends - eating and drinking.. A minute after the new year, the resolution has been forgotten.. it's hopeless~ *sigh*

All in all, the New Year Party was great. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard while playing cards with group of friends, LOL!

[3rd January 2010 @ Tenji Japanese Buffet, Mont Kiara]

On the third day of New Year, four little piggies went out in search of food...

Our destination was the Tenji Japanese Buffet at Mont Kiara, Damansara. We reached there 20 minutes before the lunch buffet which was at 11.30am, and we thought we'd be the only ones there since it's still considered early. But when we reached there, there were already a few people wandering about the area waiting for the place to open. Not long after, more people came flocking in with friends and family.

A few minutes before 11.30am, the reception counter opened and lucky for us, we had an early reservation on that day 'cause the couple in front of us weren't able to get a table due to the overbooked reservations. *phew~*

After paying and we got our table, all of us went food hunting.. Taking anything and evertyhing that catches our eyes. The fresh food there are really fresh indeed. From its salmon, to its mackerel, to its oyster.. everything is just superbly fresh!

'Nuff said, let the picture tell you the rest since as the saying goes "A picture says a thousand words". So, that would mean I'm replacing a gazillion words with all the pictures below. Cheers and enjoy~
