The first day of gym was what I can sum up in one word - HELL! After more than a year not stepping in a gym, my body was not like what it used to be. After warming up, I started off with the treadmill. 5 minutes on it and my legs felt as if it's about to be ripped off! The remaining 25 minutes on the treadmill was the most tormenting 25 minutes of my life!
That was it - 30 minutes in the gym and I felt like I was in a boot camp or something. But still, undeterred, my friends and I continued our ' mission' by going to the sauna. There and then I realized that I used the word hell as comparison too soon. THIS was HELL! With shortage of breath and bodily aches added with the torturing heat, I just wish I won't end up in this kind of place in the afterlife!
Still pumped up with determination, we went to the gym again the next day. We did the treadmill, the bicycle, the weight-thingy-contraption and the somewhat-like-bicycle-thingy. Surprisingly, this time was not half as bad as it was the day before. Our stamina were way better and I did not even realized when it came to 10 minutes of exercising. Our routine continued and on alternate days we went swimming instead of the gym.
Ever since it became part of our routine, I started to Google on how to do the right exercise and I found some rather interesting articles. In one of the articles I read that by exercising, one can grow taller! This is achieved by increasing the level of hGH (human growth hormone) which will help the growth when it is present. This is done by doing the right exercise by breaking your exercise routine into small parts (i.e one set of dead-lifts or 100m sprint), take a rest for about 5 minutes to ensure that it remains anaerobic and the repeat the exercise again. One does not have to spend hours on exercising tho, 10 to 15 minutes of all-out effort is all that is needed.
The logic behind the theory is that,when we do vigorous exercise, our body will produce hGH as a result which directly prompts our body into new growth. This will then encourage the growth of our body system which includes muscles, cartilage and bones. Exercising and stretching will thus encourage our body growth. - source
After reading the above article I became more excited and look forward going to the gym more than ever. Another article I read that is somewhat interesting is about a fat burning product. I read some reviews on a book called Fat Burning Furnace by Rob Poulos and it's somewhat interesting.
Here is an overview of the book;
The Fat Burning Furnace System by Rob Poulos is a 158 page guide on how to lose fat and gain lean muscle in order to look better and also raise your RMR (resting metabolic rate).
That is the ‘furnace’ part, the author talks about how you can raise your RMR so that your body burns hundreds more calories each day, effectively putting you on a diet by that many calories each day without you changing your eating habits.
It is a well written and detailed guide, although slow to start with lots of introduction as to why he believes his methods work so well etc, the ‘meat’ of the system doesn’t start until around page 24, then the information on exercise carries on until page 104, with 105+ concentrating on nutrition.

Now it gets me thinking on whether I should get the book or not.. Hee..
